Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information gradecalc.us ("GradeCalc," "we," "us") collects and how it is used. The short version: the grades you enter never leave your device.

Last updated

Grades and numbers you enter

All calculations run in your web browser. The grades, scores, weights and GPAs you type are not sent to us or to anyone else. To save you retyping, calculators store your most recent entries in your browser's local storage on your own device. You can clear them at any time with the Reset button or by clearing your browser's site data.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically processes standard technical information when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and the time of the request. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and understand overall traffic. We do not use it to identify you personally.

Cookies and advertising

GradeCalc does not require cookies to work. We store a theme preference (light or dark) in local storage. If we add analytics or advertising in the future, such as Google AdSense, those third parties may use cookies or similar technologies to measure visits or show ads, including ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. When that happens:

  • We will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
  • You can opt out of personalized Google ads at Google Ads Settings and learn about other networks at aboutads.info.

Email

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply and to improve the site, and we don't sell it or add it to mailing lists.

Children's privacy

GradeCalc is a general-audience educational site used by students of many ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and our calculators do not ask for any. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live (for example California under the CCPA/CPRA, or other U.S. states with consumer privacy laws), you may have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to request deletion, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, email contact@gradecalc.us.

Data security

The site is served only over HTTPS. Because your grades stay in your browser, there is no grade database for anyone to breach.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version.
